Justice
Men create factions; men run the governments that are influenced by factions. Thus, there was one more way in which the founders set themselves against faction, equally critical to the success of their enterprise: their uncompromising insistence on the reality of a common good grounded in the true principles of justice. Factious action was not only wrong because it was dangerous; it was dangerous because it was wrong.
